Vase Offering
龙王是佛教天龙八部护法之一，群龙之首亦称龙神或龙王，具有广大的神威力。护法龙王都曾在佛前发下大誓愿，要护持佛法及修行佛法的人。献龙王宝瓶，为龙王祈祷离苦得乐，早日成佛；而诸天龙王接受我们的供养与祈祷，欢喜愉悦，必定尽心尽力满足众生的愿望，使风调雨顺，国泰民安，远离各种天灾人祸、逢凶化吉，并能听闻正法离苦得乐。
由于自然界受人为因素的破坏而严重失衡，例如，人类对水族众生的滥捕滥杀日益恶劣，以及过度开发森林、挖沙添海、开山劈石、污染江河湖海等，使龙族频受滋扰及伤害，无法安居喜悦而心生怨怒，必然导致种种天灾人祸的发生。气候反常、干旱水灾、瘟疫恶疾蔓延等；就个体而言，容易患脏腑失调、气脉不通或麻疯病、肿胀发炎等皮肤疾病。
[大智度论所载]:
献龙王宝瓶，不仅是上供而已。也是祈请龙王早日成佛，龙王接受供品及祈请，所以对您将多一重护持力。而诸天龙王接受我们的供养与祈祷，愉悦欢喜，则必尽心随愿满足众生。如依时布雨、风调雨顺，使植物生长茂密，众生免于饥荒。令诸土地神祗，护佑国土居民、民生利乐，远刀兵劫，所有愿望皆得满足。
龙王乃一切权势之王，掌管一切财富，供龙王宝瓶者可成就以下功德及利益：
．财富资财得无限增长，具足权贵，人所敬爱。
．风调雨顺，五谷丰收。
．国家安泰，免受疾病、瘟疫，怪病等侵害。
．一切事业顺利无碍。
．免受蛇类伤害，不受诸毒侵害

NAGA PUJA (BUDDHISM)
Nagas (snakes, water dragons.) can be wisdom holders, and can also
cause skin diseases and cancer, depletion of life force energy and other
obstacles. It is wise to make offerings to Nagas, when disturbing the earth. It
is believed that one's present wealth, fame, health, confidence, merits will
improve, obstacles and sickness will be eliminated, one will always meet good
friends and masters, has a happy harmonious family, there will be fine weather
in the region with sufficient rainfall, good harvest, and the country will
enjoy peace and harmony., last but not least one will accomplish one's
practices.
WHY PERFORM NAGA PUJA
The Naga puja is performed specifically to placate and pacify harms
from nagas. Nagas are serpent like guardians of lands, waterways, space, wind
and earth. In the famous story of Nagarjuna, it was mentioned that some of
these nagas are also guardians of sutras and they protect the Dharma and will
reveal these Dharma treasures only to the right and intended recipients.
Inevitably, if we have offended these powerful nagas, it is good to initiate
naga pujas as a means to pacify them as naga harms often manifest as skin
diseases. It is also believed that cancer can also be caused through harms to
nagas.
